A Mannequin's Struggle

Longline:

In a world where mannequins have to endure horrible fashion trends, one mannequin must face the worst trend of them all.

Visual Components:

- Deep Space Single Point Perspective to show set up the story and establish location.

-Limited space shows the characters in flat space but uses the deep space to show background objects and all show how the characters are placed in relation to the shot.

-The camera leads toward another character multiple times throughout the story because the characters that are introduced at the beginning are merely carrying the audience to the true protagonist, Eve. Also the camera movements help to show that the point of view is of a fly on the wall and not an actual character in the story.

-The color of the underwear are not bright or crazy so that it does not draw much attention to the mannequins because they are not suppose to seem significant until the end.

-The color of the store decorations along with the clothing being displayed are bright colors. The are warm colors with loud patterns.

Story:

It is an ordinary day at the mall. The doors have just opened and people are beginning to trickle in. Julie rushes into the store, ALWAYS YOUNG, taking a quick look at her watch to see how late she is. She sees her boss standing by the counter with her hands on her hips waiting for her. When Julie makes it to the front desk her boss gets on to her for being late and as a punishment she gives Julie a box of clothes and tells her to go dress the mannequins.

Julie walks over to the mannequins with the box. The mannequins's faces are painted on with their eyes closed. Julie sets the box down and pulls out a pair of navy underwear and places them on the first mannequin, who's name is Karen. She then pulls out a light blue thong and places it on the second mannequin, Eve. When the thong is placed in its designated spot, Eve's eyes open and widen from the discomfort.

A customer approaches Julie and askes her a question. While Julie is distracted by the customer, the mannequins look at each others underwear. Karen laughs while the poor Eve frowns, unhappy with the fabric between her cheeks. The Eve looks to her left and right to make sure no one is looking. Once no one is in sight, Judy reaches behind her and immediately feels sweet relief as she picks a wedgie.
